Grove. Rumor
has it that Borg has owned this modest motel on the Monterey Peninsula for
years. But like Clint Eastwood in nearby Carmel, Bjorn is seldom
seen by visitors. Locals claim he appears like an apparition
occasionally at the back of coffee shops, or in solitude along the surf
where he vanishes like a sea lion camouflaged against the rocks.
(The tennis player in the picture is thrilled to have the room that Borg
reportedly sleeps in, even though it is in the back and doesn't have a
